I can not wait to see all of us together tomorrow for the first day of in-person learning, 4 days a week. The pick-up and drop-off procedures will remain the same. Please do not arrive early or park at the red curb for an extended period of time to pick up your child. Congratulations to the Joan MacQueen Middle School Engineering team who won the Core Values award at the First Lego League Robotics Team and placed 3rd in Robot Games. They were one of four teams to advance to the SoCal Championship Tournament on April 10th. @SanDiegoCOE

Phase Three Update!
CAL Fire COVID Testing for tomorrow, Wednesday, March 10th at JMMS has been canceled due to expected rain.
Good Evening Families, I am so excited to have us move to four days a week starting on March 15th. We have a small number of families that have decided to remain distance learning for Phase 3, therefore there will be minimal changes made to the students' schedule. The teachers will notify you if any changes have been made to your child’s previous homeroom or ZOOM times. All of our safety protocols will continue to be followed during this transition. The pick-up and drop-off procedures will remain the same. Please do not arrive early or park at the red curb for an extended period of time to pick up your child. PTA is looking for photos for the next dress up day on March 16th and March 18th so wear your green. Spring Break will take place March 22nd to April 4th. The students return to school on April 5th. We are excited to announce that after school sports will be returning to JMMS on April 6.
We are proud that our in-person learning has been going strong for 20 consecutive weeks. We can't wait for Phase Three beginning March 15!

While Zero the Hero arrives only once a year at CELC on the 100 day of school, he loved the students so much he sent them all masks as they are honorary heroes. Go Cubs!
CAL Fire will be doing COVID-19 testing today at Joan MacQueen Middle School from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Free COVID-19 tests and flu shots will be provided at JMMS this Wednesday from 9:00-3:00. No appointment is necessary but individuals may schedule one on 211sandiego.org.

I hope all of you had an enjoyable weekend. PTA is hosting the following spirit days. They will include the photos in this year's annual. Distance Learners are encouraged to dress up as well and send the photos into the school office.
March 2 and March 5 - Sport Jersey
March 16 and 18 - Wear Green
April 6 and 9 - SHS Hawk wear or colors
As we prepare to return to school four days a week on March 15th, we need to know if you plan on changing your child's learning plan. If you are staying with the current plan, there is no need to notify us. However, if you plan to make any changes, notify the school's office by March 5th. This will ensure we have the proper preparations in place for a smooth transition back to school. More information is to come.

Good Evening Families, I hope everyone enjoyed our second three-day weekend. We will see you on Tuesday. I would like to thank the Herrington and Sanchez Families for the commitment of water donations. This will be greatly appreciated especially as the weather begins to warm up and we return to school four days a week on March 15th. Grab and Go Meal Distribution will take place on Tuesday of this week due to our schools being closed on Monday for the holiday. We will hand out the meals on Tuesday from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm and 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm at JMMS. Please email kmassey@alpineschools.net if you have any questions. PTA would like to sponsor a few dress- up days to post in the yearbook. The first two are scheduled for 2/16 and 2/18 – wear red, white and blue in honor of President’s Day.
