Dear AUSD Families,
We want to keep you informed about the status of our school openings. We are closely monitoring the evolving weather conditions and staying up-to-date with all weather reports and alerts. We are also aware that San Diego Unified decided earlier today to close its schools tomorrow. The storm is expected to fully pass through our community in the early hours of tomorrow. We intend to have all our schools open tomorrow.ย ย
We understand that maintaining a consistent learning experience is of utmost importance. We also understand how much our families depend on our schools to provide a secure environment for their children throughout the workday. Consequently, we want to affirm our commitment to keeping our schools open as long as conditions permit.
Please rest assured that the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families are of paramount importance to us. We will continue to keep a watchful eye on the weather developments. We will make any necessary adjustments to our plans to ensure our students' best possible learning environment.
Please stay updated by checking district and school emails, social media, and school websites for further announcements.ย Thank you for your patience and understanding.ย ย
Stay safe,
Dr. Rich Newman
Proudest Superintendent on Earth
