Dear AUSD Families,
SDG&E continues to monitor conditions across San Diego County and has announced the possibility of power shutoffs due to forecasted high fire risk. At this time, no outages have been confirmed. Please note that all AUSD schools will remain open tomorrow as scheduled.
Should a power shutoff occur in our community while students are on campus, we will promptly communicate the next steps to ensure their safety and well-being.
We encourage families to review their household’s emergency plan and prepare for an extended power outage, including ensuring any backup generators are in good working condition and have enough fuel. Generator safety tips can be found at sdge.com/generator.
You can stay informed about public safety power outages by using SDG&E’s mobile app or visiting SDGE.com/Outages for the latest location details and updates on power restoration.
Thank you for your patience and support as we navigate these times of elevated fire risk.
Important Update on Potential Power Shutoffs. Schools will be open on Monday, December 9.

ATT has completed their repairs, and phone lines at schools have been restored. Thank you for your patience.
The phone lines at each school site are temporarily down due to ongoing repairs being made by AT&T technicians, who are actively working to resolve the issue.
We appreciate your patience and expect phones to be up and running within the hour. Thank you for your understanding.
🇺🇸 This Veterans Day, we honor and express our deepest gratitude to all veterans who have served and sacrificed for our country. Your courage, dedication, and selflessness inspire us every day.
To our veterans in the community, including staff, parents, and family members of our students—thank you for your service. Today and every day, we celebrate you and the freedoms you have helped secure.
Happy Veterans Day! 🇺🇸 #VeteransDay #HonoringOurHeroes #ThankYouVeterans

We are aware that SDG&E has activated their Emergency Operations Center and initiated PSPS (Public Safety Power Shutoff) protocols in response to the forecasted increase in fire weather.
At this time, our schools have not received any notification from SDG&E regarding planned power shutoffs. We are closely monitoring the situation and are in direct contact with SDG&E. Should there be any updates or changes, we will inform you immediately.
Please rest assured that the safety of our students, staff, and community is always our top priority. School will remain open as scheduled tomorrow and we will continue to monitor the situation and will notify families and staff promptly if anything changes that affects school operations or safety.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. We will keep you informed of any new developments.
Join us on Tuesday, October 15, at the Alpine Community Center to learn about Measure U.

Thank you to Alpine's Fire Marshall, Jason McBroom for spending the morning with AUSD leadership reviewing school site Fire Safety protocols. In collaboration with Alpine Fire, we plan to be prepared should a disastrous event come our way.
