Good Morning Shadow Hills Families,
Red Ribbon week is planned for the week of October 26th. PTA has some great activities planned. They will distribute red ribbons on Monday, October 26th. They would like everyone to wear red on Wednesday, October 28th. This year we will have our Halloween dress up day on Tuesday, October 27th and Friday, October 30th in order for both groups to wear their costumes. SHS will hold our annual costume parade a little differently this year. We are encouraging everyone to dress up whether you are on campus or learning from home on Friday, October 30th. During our morning check in at 9:00 am, we will have a parade instead. The students that are at home will participate via ZOOM. After the parade is over, everyone's name will be placed in a drawing and we will select two winners from each grade level. Please remember all costumes must be school appropriate, no masks, blood or gore. Have a great week! Yvette Maier

Dear AUSD Families:

We were notified today that an individual at Boulder Oaks has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Due to privacy laws, information regarding this individual's identity cannot be released. This individual is currently not on campus per public health guidelines. The school will remain open for in-person learning. We have cleaned and disinfected appropriately following all health protocols.

We understand that this information is concerning. Staff members and students who may have come into close contact with the individual will be contacted directly by San Diego County Public Health and the school office with further instructions. We are working with public health to continue to monitor the situation, and we are strictly following all public health guidelines.

As a reminder, we ask that you monitor your student for any signs of illness each day such as cough, shortness of breath, runny nose, and fever at home before coming to school. Anyone with a fever of 100°F or more should not go to a school site. Those experiencing symptoms including a persistent cough, shortness of breath, or runny nose should not attend school or ESS, even if no fever is present. All students are required to wear a face covering, and student temperatures will continue to be taken upon entering classes and buildings.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Sincerely,

Dr. Rich Newman
Superintendent
Alpine Union School District

Good Evening Shadow Hills Families,
We had another great week of learning. I would like to thank all the volunteers that took on a PTA board position. I am happy to inform you we almost have a full PTA board. We are still in need of a VP in charge of membership and an auditor. If you are interested, please let me know. PTA has great plans for Red Ribbon week. Look for information coming your way soon.
