Degrees and Certifications:
Wendy Wray, Transitional Kindergarten Teacher
Hello! My name is Wendy Wray, and I am so lucky to be a teacher at Creekside. This is my twenty fourth year as a teacher in the Alpine Union School District, and I’ve lived in Alpine with my husband since 1998. I was born and raised in Santa Barbara, and moved to San Diego to earn both my bachelor’s degree and teaching credential at San Diego State University, as well as my master’s degree in Education. I have a twenty one year old daughter named Shelby, who attends college at Cornell University in New York, and a seventeen year old daughter named Kenzie, a senior at Steele Canyon, who will be starting college at Illinois Institute of Technology this fall. Both of my daughters are former Alpine students, and I am grateful for the wonderful education they received that prepared them so well for their future success.
Our school is a very special place, where the joy of childhood is celebrated daily. Teaching Transitional Kindergarten is an incredible experience, and every day is a new adventure. I love sharing the excitement of learning with my students, and helping them discover how much fun learning can be. TK is hands-on, engaging, and interactive. My #1 goal for my students is that they LOVE school, and realize that learning is FUN! Social and emotional growth is a huge focus in our classroom, and we balance that with a strong foundation of academic skills to prepare students for a successful year in Kindergarten and beyond.
I strongly believe that parents and teachers are a team and need to work together to ensure a successful experience for each child. I can be reached by email at email@example.com with any questions or concerns you may have. I look forward to working with you and enjoying an exciting year of growth and learning with your child! Creekside truly is the place to be!
