Superintendent's Message

AUSD Superintendent Tom Pellegrino

Welcome to the Alpine Union School District's website.  I am honored to lead a district with a long standing tradition of putting children's needs first and producing students that perform at the highest academic levels.  Anton Chekhov, author and physician wrote, "Man is what he believes."  Here is a glance at my core educational beliefs.

Treat every child, staff member and parent with respect, especially during disagreements.

Every child has the ability to learn, and it is our responsibility to engineer schools and classrooms that challenge every student every day.

Teaching deeply and requiring students to critically think, explain, and apply the learning is worth the time.

When we educate the whole child via music, art, drama, speech, P.E., and character Ed, we inspire all learners, heighten creativity, develop happier kids that learn more deeply, score higher, and become better citizens.

Positive relationships with students, teachers, staff, parents, the greater community and the Board are essential to maximize our work.

Innovative solutions to complex problems come from integrating the abilities and ideas of many perspectives.Having fun is an important part of the teaching and learning process.

My mission is to support a safe environment where Alpine's trustees, teachers, staff, parents, and ultimately students learn at the highest levels possible to position them for success in school and life!
