Character and Compassion in Action!

Our goal is for character education to be transformed from something that is taught to that which is lived within and outside of the Alpine Union School District.  Students are encouraged to be caring, responsible, respectful of themselves and others, fair, trustworthy and compassionate. Participation in events and organizations that strive to help others, solve problems, and better to our community, nation, or world are highly encouraged. 

Read up on these events and get involved.  You'll find that while you are out helping others, you benefit the most by acquiring new perspectives, life skills, and a deep purpose.

Share Our Strength

Mrs. Greer, a fourth grade teacher at AES, was honored recently for her work to help students learn about character, compassion, and students' global relationship to the world. Her second grade class from Shadow Hills collected "coins for kids" to help those much less fortunate than many of us in Alpine.  They rasied over $15,000 and sorted, counted, and audited their collections!  Students were accurate down to the penny when the bank deposited the funds!  After she returned back from the Share Our Strength's National Awards and Conference, she said, "They (Share Our Strength Non-profit) featured Coins for Kids at one of their sessions and it was really exciting to see our Alpine kids up on that large screen.  The audience loved it too!"

Rachel' s Challenge  Mission:  We exist to inspire, equip and empower every person to create a permanent positive culture change in their school, business and community by starting a chain reaction of kindness and compassion.
