Hello, my name is Moana Miller and I am currently the Principal of Boulder Oaks Elementary School. I am of American Samoan heritage and have lived in the San Diego County area for many years.
Education is a true passion of mine. For the past 18 years my work has been focused on student success. My educational career in the Alpine School District includes teaching grades k, 2, 3, 5, serving as the Title I program coordinator for JMMS, Programs Coordinator for AUSD, and Principal at Creekside Early Learning Center.
As an educator I believe that challenging students with meaningful, project-based activities and empowering them to take an active role in their learning is essential in developing their ability to be confident, self-disciplined learners.
My husband and I enjoy spending time with our children and grandchildren; at this time, we are proud grandparents of six granddaughters. We enjoy planning trips to Disneyland with the kids and when it’s just the two of us, we enjoy traveling and exploring new places together.
